When is a soil study required?+

Before any new build, extension or underpinning. The soil study determines bearing capacity, stratigraphy and risks — water table, compressible soils — that dictate the foundation type.

Which concrete tests do you run on site?+

Slump, air content, temperature, cylinder casting and concrete core drilling for compressive strength, in line with CSA standards and the project specifications.

How does pyrite testing work?+

We sample the granular fill under the slab, measure swelling potential and issue an IPPG petrographic index with recommendations — a quality control step often required during a real estate transaction.

Do you verify soil compaction in backfill?+

Yes. We measure in-place density with a nuclear gauge, compare it to the Proctor value and document each zone, with grain-size analysis of borrow materials when required.
